Utrecht has won the second friendly match of the preparation. PEC Zwolle was defeated 2-1 in Utrecht. It was the first win in the friendly campaign, after losing to De Graafschap last week.

What happened?

Under the watchful eye of Nick Viergever, who has not yet played for his new club, Utrecht got the first chance after just two minutes. Yoann Cathline shot at the goalkeeper.

The match

After more than a quarter of an hour, it was a goal when Artem Stepanov scored a good attack with a pass from Niklas Vesterlund. In the subsequent phase, PEC had a lot of ball possession, but did not create any chances.

The reactions

Utrecht had lost the first friendly match against De Graafschap. The fact that they won now is less important to coach Anthony Correia than the fact that they played much better football.
